New version of the Exact Synergy App for iOS available

In the blogpost ‘iOS8 and the Exact Synergy app’ we described that the Exact Synergy App for iOS did not work in combination with iOS8.

In the meantime the update that was submitted to the App store, has been approved and is now available to download.

With this link, you can download the latest version of the Exact Synergy App for iOS.

IOS8 and the Exact Synergy App

As you may have noticed, the Exact Synergy App is currently not working on IOS8. We have already submitted an update to the App Store, to resolve this issue. Due to the review process by Apple, it usually takes about a week before the update is made available for download.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience, but we expect the update to become available within the next few days.

Brand new Apps

For users running on Exact Synergy Enterprise release 252 or higher, we have 3 brand new apps available, offering the same functionality and lots more, such as Twitter integration and of course a brand new design.

The Exact CRM App can be downloaded here, the HR Self Service app can be downloaded here, and the Expenses App here.

In the near future we will also start the Controlled Release for the Hour Entry app, so keep an eye on the product blog for the latest news.

Not 1, not 2, but 3 new Android Apps for Exact Synergy Enterprise

In my last day as a product owner I can share this great news to all Android users. Many of you have asked me about when to expect the Android Apps. They are finally there now!

The Exact HR Self Service App and the Exact Expenses App are available to you. These Apps can be downloaded via the Google Play App store. There you will find all information about these Apps.

HR Self Service App: Contains all your information you don’t want to share with your colleagues! Salary slips, Personal files, Vacation requests and Sick leaves. You are able to plan your time off, call in sick and secure your App with a pin code.

CRM App: is in a pre-beta version and only available to a very limited set of users. End of August we plan to have a Controlled Release version availble. If you are interested to join the Controlled Release  and run on Exact Synergy PU252 or above, please contact Huwald Smeets via productreadiness@exact.com. The Android CRM app offers exact the same functionality as the CRM App on iOS and looks even better.

2 Android Apps in Controlled Release: Expenses en HR Self Service

This week we started the Controlled Release of the first two Android Apps new style. The Apps that are in Controlled Release are:

Expenses App: Easily book your expenses! View your previous expenses, secure your App with a pincode

HR Self Service App: Contains all your information you don’t want to share with your colleagues! Salary slips, Personal files, Vacation requests and Sick leaves. You are able to plan your time off, call in sick and secure your App with a pincode.

Delft, 27 mei 2014 – Exact brengt vier mobiele apps voor zakelijke gebruikers op de markt, te weten de Exact CRM app, Exact Expenses App, Exact HR Self Services app en de Field Service App. Met de CRM App en de Field Service app hebben buitendienstmedewerkers alle benodigde klantgegevens altijd binnen handbereik. Exact CRM App for Android now available in the Play Store

After a succesful Controlled Release period, we are very pleased to announce the Exact CRM App for Android is now available in the Play Store.

This app has been especially designed with the sales rep in mind. It provides them with all the information they need to be fully prepared for the next meeting, and all the tools to ensure follow-up activities are initiated and performed within the agreed timelines.

The app was built on the latest technology, and provides you with valuable real-time information from Exact Synergy Enterprise, release 252 or higher. Not on release 252 yet? We also provide a demo mode, so you can already gain some hands on experience with the App(s).

Change regarding the product updates that are available for download

When performing an update of Exact Globe Next and Exact Synergy Enterprise you have the possibility to select the product update you want to install.

The availability of the older product updates causes confusion among customers our who perform an update. Because there is little demand for the old product updates and they are not up-to-date in terms of legislation and regulations, in line with our Terms and Conditions as of now only the last five product updates are available for download.

At the moment the following product updates are available for Exact Globe Next: 404, 405, 406, 407 and 408. For Exact Synergy Enterprise the following product updates are available 249, 250, 251, 252 and 253.

Older product updates are no longer available for download, but are available on request. For more information about requesting an older product update, see this document on our customer portal.

Exact Synergy Enterprise Product Update 253 is now General Available

As of today, July 8, Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 253 is generally available. That marks the end of the controlled release period which started in the beginning of June.

With our customers’ needs in mind we have added several new functions and improvements. Exact Synergy Enterprise offers now enhancements to the PSA and the Service Management solutions.

Furthermore, there are changes to the system requirements. The support of Windows XP and Office 2003 is discontinued as of product updates 253.

Important note

As of Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 253 the new ‘hours and expenses page’ will be the default page for entering hours and expenses. It is therefore important that you submit all draft hours before updating. Otherwise, the draft hours will not be available anymore after the upgrade.

Version 2.0 of the Field Service App is there: Have a look and feel the difference!

The Exact Field Service App is already used by many customers today. Statistics show that more and more service oriented organizations equip their service engineers with an iPad rather than paper files. They have seen the benefits of linking the activities of their service engineers directly in the back-office. It allows them to approve the activity for invoicing, send a confirmation email to the client when the job has been done and always have an update planning ready for the engineer. Also all stock movements made by the engineer are directly managed in the back-office and never lose track of a signed service order again!

Version 2.0 of the Field Service App offers new features and an improved user interface. Most obvious changes are:

  • A new activity can be created from the service order. This way the engineer can send a message to the internal organization when he thinks there is a need for it. This can be that maintenance of a machine is very poor, that he sees an opportunity to replace the existing machine by another one or to request the planner to plan a follow-up appointment at the customer side. Note that user cannot create a new service activity.
  • The Field Service App can be secured by the use of a pin code. In the setting, the engineer can define his pin code. Now every time the App is used, a pin code needs to be filled in first.
  • The user interface has been adjusted. Goal is to make the service order screen easier to use. This has been done by cleaning up the screen and offer only that information the engineer needs most. Note that all information is still there, only not directly in your face.
  • Get informed when an item you want to add to the service order is blocked (only available with latest PU 252 update)

Besides these new features there are hundreds of small adjustments in this version of the Field Service App. Some adjustments are visible, most are not. Have a look and feel the difference!

important: As mentioned, a lot of changes have been made in the App. The communication with the Synergy back-office is improved and fully runs via web services now, just like the other new Apps that are launched this year. Because of this change it is required to open up the web services in your Synergy back-office. You can do this in the Web services settings menu, located in the System tab. Check the ‘Exclude web services function rights’ setting and make sure all checkboxes in the right column are checked. When this is done run an IISreset and you’re save and done! The ‘Exclude web services function rights’ setting allows users to use the web services mentioned in the right column based on their Synergy roles and rights.

Exact Synergy Enterprise 253 in controlled release

As of this week Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 253 and Exact Globe Next product update 408 are in Controlled Release. This means that customers who participate in the controlled release phase can download the new product updates. In these product updates many new functions and improvements are available.

In Exact Synergy Enterprise there are improvements in the PSA solution the Service Management solution and in the mobile app.
