•updating to Exact Globe product update 411 from Exact Globe product update 409 or Exact Globe product update 410, and
•updating to Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 256 from Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 254 or Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 255, and
•using Exact Lightweight Integration Server (ELIS) as integration solution between Exact Globe and Exact Synergy Enterprise
In this product update of ELIS it has been made possible for partners of Exact to create their own solutions using ELIS. As a result of this the update procedure for ELIS is different this time. For future product updates the standard routine can be used again.
After updating Exact Globe to 411 and updating Exact Synergy Enterprise to 256, the update of ELIS has to be installed from the CAB folder of the Exact Synergy Enterprise installation. The installation routine of ELIS did not change, only the location where to install from is different for this product update only.
After ELIS has been updated, the solutions that run on ELIS (like Exact Integration) can be installed in the usual way. It is mandatory to also update the end points of Exact Globe and Exact Synergy Enterprise. Make sure that after the end points are updated, the product update version registered by the clients is updated by connecting to Exact Globe and Exact Synergy Enterprise from the client configuration screen and save the changes. Also make sure the configuration is updated to the latest version of the solution.
Due to the changes in ELIS in this product update, as of version 184.108.40.206 of ELIS it is only possible to connect to Exact Globe product update 411 and Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 256. It is not supported to connect to lower product updates of Exact Globe and Exact Synergy Enterprise with this version of ELIS.
The controlled release fase of product update 411 and 256 starts at the end of November 2015. The product updates are planned to be generally available in January 2016.
To provide you a great user experience Exact products use the newest technologies. To support these new technologies the system requirements are revised regularly when releasing a new product update. This is also the case for product update 409 and 254. As of product update 409 and 254 the system requirements will change. For instance, the installation of Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 will be a requirement.
Because Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 is not supported for Windows Server 2003, and because according the Microsoft support lifecycle policy the support for Windows Server 2003 will stop as of July 2015, we are unfortunately forced to stop the support for Windows Server 2003 as of product update 409/254.
If you are using Windows Server 2003 and want to update to product update 409/254, we advise to timely upgrade to a newer supported operating system.
As of today, July 8, Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 253 and Exact Globe Next product update 408 are generally available. That marks the end of the controlled release period which started in the beginning of June.

Furthermore, there are changes to the system requirements for both products. As of Exact Globe Next product update 408 Windows 8.1 is supported. The support of Windows XP and Office 2003 is discontinued as of product update 408.
As of today new service packs are available! To make sure you timely have access to the legislative changes in January you can expect a new service pack more often than usual. Keep an eye on the supportblog for the availability of the new service packs.

In previous releases the search function was available on the left. As of this product update it will be available on the top. Your roles determine in which module you can search.
Similar to the search function the +Create menu is also available on the top. Via this menu you can create the entities.
On the right side next you can find the Modules that allow you to navigate to the various functions of those modules.

As of today, July 8, Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 253 is generally available. That marks the end of the controlled release period which started in the beginning of June.
With our customers’ needs in mind we have added several new functions and improvements. Exact Synergy Enterprise offers now enhancements to the PSA and the Service Management solutions.
Furthermore, there are changes to the system requirements. The support of Windows XP and Office 2003 is discontinued as of product updates 253.

It is not a yell you hear a lot. Maybe you have never heard it. But in some departments you can hear it…the payroll administrators who have to enter the new wages into the system.
It can be a lot of work. Search for the employee, open the payroll data, select the gross salary component, update the amount, save the changes and then start again with the next employee.
Of course we understand the payroll administrators, but we also know that employees like to get a salary increase. Therefore we created a tool to update the salaries quickly and easily. And not only changes in salaries, but also changes of manager, location and other payroll components like net allowances or bonuses.
In the mass update-tool, you can change employee data for all (or a selection of) employees in three clicks. First select the employees and the subject you want to update. But you can also select all employees, because you can exclude them for a change in the next step.
Here you see a percentage increase of the salary with 2,5% as from 01-09-2011. By the way, the amounts are rounded up to 0,50 cents.
In the next step, you can deselect some employees so the will not get a salary increase. You also can change the new amount manually. So when you have an increase without any logic, you can start with an increase of an amount of 0,00. In the grid, you can enter the new wages manually for all employees in one page.
Same logic is available for increasing (or decreasing) other payroll components. As said before, it is also possible to update your employee data, like manager or mail addresses.
So with this tool, I hope that everybody likes salary increases as from now!
