Service Management: 1:1 scenario General Available

As of today our new Service Management solution is generally available for 1:1 scenarios. This solution enables manufacturers and wholesale companies to streamline their complete service management process.

After many days of interviewing, visiting, developing, testing we reached a phase were we release the first part of functionality from the service management solution.

The solution supports the handling of:

  • contract and activity invoicing

Service management solution: A progress update

Initial investigation completed

We completed our inquiry into business challenges and needs, and gained good insight into service-related activities in today’s business. We clustered our findings into solution elements, checked them with our customers and internal experts and transformed into a concept of the new solution. We would once again like to thank all customers and business partners who took part in this phase and would like to remain in close contact in the coming months while we are working on the solution.

Decision to develop made

Exact already has a strong footprint in both wholesale trade and manufacturing segments where companies provide services in both local and international environments. Our findings during the initial investigation confirmed the need to develop a new service management solution.  The solution board approved of the project and development commenced. For us it is an iterative, build-rinse-refine process, during which we will, of course, keep you informed and involved.

First take: contract & configuration management

The first area of the new solution that we are covering is contract and configuration management — the starting point of all service activities. We want to offer both flexibility in setting up contracts and individual conditions & agreements, as well as convenient way to reuse contract templates to speed up work of service managers and sales personnel.

Exact’s Service Management solution video

The Exact Service Management team is currently developing a successor to the Exact Field Service solution, that aims to help wholesale and manufacturing companies who service the products they sell to optimize their service activities.

To give you even more insight in what this solution is and how you can benefit from it, we are pleased to share with you the solution video. In the video you can see how we aim to meet and exceed your needs with our full scale Service Management solution. You will also learn how this solution can facilitate each of the process flow steps, that include service configuration, service activity, dispatching/planning, realizations, validation/approval and invoicing.

Exact’s Service Management solution is in the final phases of development, we plan to start a controlled release period in Q4 of 2011, so stay tuned for announcements on our Product Blog.

We have got news for you, and the news today is about service management.

If you are a customer of Exact, and you are using the field service solution in Synergy ASP, you must have been wondering what awaits you in the future. If you are not yet a customer, and just shopping around, do read on, there might be something interesting for you as well.

We would like to announce that Exact has started working on a successor for the existing field service solution.

Now, we want to be very clear about the word successor from the beginning. We are checking which features of the existing field service solution should make it into the successor and which should be discarded, improved or redesigned from scratch. We are also open to cooperation with partners on integrating the new service management solution with their products to make it even a better fit. We are doing an immense amount of research and investigation.

But it is not about us. It is about you!

We do have strong opinions on what the new service management solution should be, but we want to deliver a solution that you, as a customer, will recognize as a solid fit for servicing the products you sell.

Therefore, now is a good time to ask you what you expect us to deliver.

In the course of this month, we will run a survey among companies that use our field service solution in Synergy ASP. This is a detailed, but important survey, so we will be very thankful if you find time to complete it. Based on what we have learned, we will continue with talking to the individual customers face to face about their needs and expectations.

What if you are not an Exact customer, but you are looking around for a good solution for service management? If you are under time pressure, you can use our existing solution in Synergy ASP. It is proven by the market and is deployed by numerous companies in wholesale trade and manufacturing pretty much everywhere in the world. If you are willing to wait and co-develop with us, please let us know.
