Exact CRM App: Insight in account revenue, outstanding amounts and everything else you need

A new version of the CRM App is available in the Appstore. This new version (2.0) comes with a couple of new features and fixes, but one really stands out!

With this new version of the CRM App, you’ll have all information available to support you in your daily job and to close that deal. So, what did we do? We added the option to add reports to your home menu and account cards.

What information do you want to check before you contact your account?

  • Revenue YTD compared to last year? Do you want to see it at assortment level or per item?
  • Or are you interested in the products he did not buy this year?
  • Or you simply want to see the pricelist for this customer?

It’s up to you!

And what matters to you? What information is critical for you to make your target and have your sales processes run smoothly?

  • Do you want to have an overview of your won deals compared to your target?
  • A graphical overview of your sales pipeline?
  • One overview with killing sheets of your competitors?
  • …………….

How to make it available on your CRM App

All the information is there and can be presented in any way you want via SSRS reports. With SSRS reports you can collect all information from your Exact or any other system and present them in a user-friendly way.

Ones the report is made available by the administrator, the user can select which reports he wants to use. This is done in Synergy (web application). Go to the user preferences where you will find a new tab called ‘Mobile’. Here you can define the reports you want to see in the main menu and at the account card. Note that you can also copy over the reports from one of your colleagues.

This function is available as of the latest version of Synergy product update 252. If this function is not available to you, you need to update your Synergy environment first.

Welcome to Exact Globe Next

Exact Globe Next offers one menu which functions as a shell to combine and give access to several solutions: Exact Globe, Exact Synergy Enterprise, Exact Event Manager and integration with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Combining all these products into one provides you with a complete solution with which you can effectively and proactively run your business, but also it enables you to see which direction your business is heading. You will gain more control over your company and processes, and stay on top of your business.

If your company is already using Exact Globe, with addition of Exact Synergy Enterprise functionality it will be much easier for your employees to collaborate online more effectively, for example by creating tasks for one another, search for people and accounts and read news about the company on the intranet home page and even submit vacation request. All employees can access Exact Synergy Enterprise with the Synergy user, but more license roles can be purchased for employees if extra functionality is needed. If you are already using Exact Synergy Enterprise all functionality you have right now will be also available with Exact Globe Next.

Thanks to the integration with SSRS you can view dashboards and reports that will give you strategic insight in your organization’s key performance indicators. With Exact Globe Next you will get a default set of dashboards that will help you to gain maximum control over your business at any time.

Exact Event Manager helps to identify and respond to critical conditions which have been defined within your organization. And with Exact Globe Next you will be able to make use of this automatic alert function, having 8 default events with an option to purchase additional event packs.

Now you might be asking yourself what it means for you in practice. With Exact Globe Next you can count on:

Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 246 in controlled release

As of this week, Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 246 is in controlled release. As usual, the release is now available for resellers and all controlled release customers that take part in it. This new product update is planned to be generally available in the end of July 2011.

Professional Services Automation
This product update focuses primarily on automation of professional services organizations, where we have added several new features to support project managers, consultants and project controllers in their daily work, such as:

  • Additional improvements in the hour & expense entry screen for consultants (video);
  • A new project manager license role that can create PSA projects, define budgets and project scopes, create work breakdown structures, find and plan people, approve their realized hours and invoice them to the customers via Exact Globe (video);
  • Improvements to rates and items for project controllers and project managers, who will be able to, among others, define project, customer and personal rates with cost and sales prices in multiple currencies, and on top of that define multiple assortments of items. We have also increased the total amount of allowed rates. (video)
  • Improvements for administrators such as:
    • 64-bit environment compliance;
    • Additional request types to be used by consultants;
    • Control over sections of the hour & expense entry screen.

Reporting services
Moreover, we have added new features in reporting to provide our customers with even better insight into enterprise data:

  • Possibility to share reports via the customer and reseller portal
  • Retrieving information from many administrations separately with one report
  • Linking multiple persons to a report irrespective of the assigned roles
  • Identifying reports as web parts

Mobile Synergy
Based on feedback and suggestions from our customers, we have also extended features in Mobile Synergy. You can now view your own calendar and schedule appointments with your accounts and colleagues.

How do you experience our PowerPivot reports?

In one of my previous blog posts I reported that we have chosen PowerPivot, a free add-on for Microsoft Excel 2010, to offer you free reports to keep track on your day-to-day business progress. PowerPivot is not available as a free add-on for MS Excel 2013. In that version it is only available in the licence Office Professional Plus.

In the last period of 2013 we have created views on important tables in Exact Globe Next. Based on these views we have built Manufacturing, Purchase, Revenue and Stock reports.  You can easily customize the reports, for instance to align them with your own needs, or build completely new ones.

As of product update 407 of Exact Globe Next, the latest commercial release, the views are automatically executed when the product update is installed. In document 25.623.801 (for customers, in Dutch) a lot of details can be found like installation instructions, setup database connection and reports.

PowerPivot dashboards in Controlled Release

In a world where entrepreneurs, managers and other stakeholders (both users and non-users of Exact) want to have a choice in how, when and where they want to have information about their business, Exact offers a new possibility to have insight in how to keep track of day-to-day-business-progress via PowerPivot.

We have chosen PowerPivot, an add-on for Microsoft Excel from version (Office) 2010, to use the reports in an environment that is familiar. The PowerPivot add-on is a free download from Microsoft and allows users to work with extremely large data sets.  PowerPivot is not available as a free add-on for MS Excel 2013. In that version it is only available in the licence Office Professional Plus.

In the last period we have created views on important tables in Exact Globe Next. Based on these views, we have built a Manufacturing, Purchase, Revenue and Stock report. The next good thing is that we offer these reports for free!

In the latest commercial release 406, the administrator has to execute a SQL script on the Globe database and change the data source of the PowerPivot sheet to connect to the Exact Globe Next database. As of product update 407, which is expected by the end of this year, the views will be automatically executed when the product update is installed.

Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 246 is generally available

We are happy to announce that as of today, Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 246 is generally available. This marks the end of the controlled release, which started in the beginning of July.

In this product update we have mainly focused on Professional Services Automation. Among others we have added the following improvements:

  • Multiple improvements have been added to the existing hour and expense entry screen for consultants (video, release note)
  • A full-fledged project manager role (video, release note)
  • Rates and items enhancements for project controllers (video)
  • Several improvements for administrators, such as 64-bit environment compliance

Moreover, we have added new features in Reporting services (release note)

  • Possibility to share reports via the customer and reseller portal
  • Retrieving information from many administrations separately with one report
  • Linking multiple persons to a report irrespective of the assigned roles
  • Identifying reports as web parts

We have also extended features in Mobile Synergy, based on feedback and suggestions from our customers. You can now view your own calendar and schedule appointments with your accounts and colleagues (release note).

As you know the iPhone app for Exact Synergy is already available and you can download it from the App Store. This app makes it possible for the users of iPhone and iPad to directly send emails, call customers and colleagues with a single finger tap while being on the go. Moreover, you can manage your schedule, but also view planning of your colleagues. Watch the video here to find out more.

Exact Globe tip: financial pivot analysis

Getting the right data from your system can be a challenge when just using standard reports. Every company and persons within that company have different needs for data analysis compared to other companies and persons. That’s why in globe there is a very usefull tool: the financial pivot analyis.

A financial pivot analysis is an interactive analysis summary, which enables you to visualize the actual financial information rapidly and effectively. You can present the data of your choice in the exact way you want, with several options for grouping and specifying the requested information. In addition to visualizing the data of a single administration, the function also allows you to compare financial details between different administrations. Based on these comparisons, you can generate an analysis report according to your preferences.
