Product updates 409 and 254 are now generally available

As of today Exact Synergy product update 254 and Exact Globe Next product update 409 are generally available. In these product updates several new functions and improvements are available.

In Exact Synergy there are improvements in the service management dispatch board and the B2B E-Commerce portal. Also the navigation on several pages is improved. In Exact Globe Next there are various improvements in the WMS solution. It is now possible to use BarTender Commander for all E-WMS labels, and a new report is introduced to gain more insight in the E-WMS stock reservations.

New look and more user friendly

A start was made to create a more user friendly system and the menu in Exact Globe Next has a new look. The new look offers the possibility to mark menu paths as favorite. Another advantage is that all companies have a different color, which makes it clearer to see in which company you are working and makes it easier to distinguish the companies.

Change in system requirements

Furthermore the system requirements have changed. Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 are supported and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is required as of these product updates. Also keep in mind that the support for Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Server 2003 are discontinued as of product update 254/409.

The new Synergy design. What has been done with your feedback so far

Last October, Sie-Hang Cheung posted an article with the title ‘Synergy 244 user feedback’. The article is about the first feedback we have received via the feedback button in the preview version of Exact Synergy Enterprise, product update 244. Over the last weeks we got lots more feedback from you. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your time and effort. Your feedback is very valuable.

We have used your feedback and the results from user research for the further development of the new design of Synergy Enterprise. We have not only built new functionality and screens, we have also made some good improvements like moving the vertical Communication menu to the top menu bar and a the positioning and behaviour of the Options menu. The user interface looks slightly different from the design which we introduced in product update 244. The interface that we are going to introduce in product update 245 has a solid foundation for further expansion.

I can imagine that you are interested in what you can expect in the next product update. In this post I will give you the highlights of the new design.

Finish Employee Self Service functionality

In product update 244 two self-service functionalities are missing: Medical leave and Expense claims. This functionality will be available. In both screens you will be guided through a wizard, as you know from the Personal time off page.

Person, Account and Project

All cards have the same look-and-feel and layout, which allows you to quickly find your way on the page. The cards are divided into a business card with contact information, a ‘More’ section with general information and tabs. The information on the tabs is arranged by subject. The order of the tabs can easily be changed via drag-and-drop.

Recent contacts

At the right top menu a Recent contacts menu is added. This menu shows an overview of recently contacted employees. It allows you to quickly navigate to one of the employee cards so you do not have to search.

As in the previous product update, the software that we deliver in product update 245 will also be a preview version. We are continuing to further develop this design.

Managing bounced and refunded collections

Collections submitted to banks may be rejected due to inaccurate debtor details, such as wrong bank account information, insufficient funds, or other reasons. Debtors themselves may retract the payment amounts which deducted from their bank accounts by the collection process.  Banks are obliged to fulfill such requests for refunds and creditors in turn, will not be able to refuse these requests.

Usually, due insufficient information, which banks provide for such transactions, the time spent managing these bounced and refunded collections can be tedious. The possibility of mistake grows in proportion with number of collections.

Exact Globe helps you to provide quicker notification of invoices linked to bounced or refunded collections in very friendly manner. Do not spend time for understanding and clarifying details of cash, which is eventually withdrawn from your bank account according to the bank statement. The solution helps you to match this cash with appropriate collection orders. Once the match is being found and confirmed, the solution automatically re-opens refunded invoices so you can collect them again. At the same time, it keeps the collection and payment data correct and consistent.

Exact Globe 397 is now general available

After a succesful controlled release period  Exact Globe product update 397  has been made general available on 30 April.  

Product update 397 is the second update in 2010 and we expect to deliver 2 more in this year, keeping up with the steady rhythm  of 4 updates a year that we have been delivering the last 2 years. With this release cycle we want to deliver to you continuous improvements during the year.

As of this product update all users of Exact Globe will be notified in Exact Globe of the availability of the new update and are directed to a product update news page. You can find all the highlights and other documentation of Exact Globe product update 397 from this page. We have seen that people are more satisfied when they use a newer product update. With this notification we want to bring the advantages of the new product update in a better way to the users so they are more inclined to use the new product update and in the end be more satisfied with Exact Globe.
