Set the priorities for shop orders: Now available

Written by Auke Hylarides on . Posted in Exact Online

Ensure that your employees on the shop floor work on the right orders, by setting the right priorities per shop order

Now in Exact Online for Manufacturing it is possible to assign priorities to your shop orders. The advantage of this is that the shop orders are produced in the correct sequence. This, for example, to be able to deliver exactly on the agreed delivery date, or to replenish your inventory on time. Due to the priorities, your employees on the shop floor know which shop orders to start with. This way they work on the right orders at the right time.

‘Projected Stock’ quantity is added to materials overview in the shop order of Exact Online for Manufacturing

Written by Auke Hylarides on . Posted in Exact Online

In the Shop Order, Exact Online for Manufacturing checks if the materials, needed for the order, are available. If the materials are not available Exact gives a clear warning.

The material requirement are matched against the available stock (‘in stock’). However when other shop orders request the same material or when the same material was listed twice in the shop order, than this may lead to wrong conclusion, that you have enough stock to start production.

In the new situation the material requirement is also matched against the ‘projected stock’. As a result you get better insight in the available stock of the materials needed to manufacture the product.

For the Premium edition we also had to support flexible use of storage locations. We are now bringing this part in controlled release.

Catch the opportunity at the moment it happens. That is basically the key value add of having a possibility for you as a sales representative to directly “write” the order at the customer site after the confirmation that the products presented via the item catalog are matching your customer needs.

In the Exact Online iPad app, which is already standard available for Exact Online users and covers a wide range of capabilities, it will soon become possible to create a sales order, directly send a confirmation via e-mail and view sales orders and their status in a very intuitive manner.   Business benefits:

  • Improve customer service level by being able to act and confirm the order on the spot.

  • Reduce risk of miscommunication with your customer, which potentially might lead to additional
contacts or delay in shipping or payments of outstandings.

  • Save time and avoid errors in the order intake process by verbal or delayed communication of the requested products to colleagues for further processing

Shop Manager Dashboard for Smart Shop Floor – now available in Exact Online for Manufacturing

Written by Auke Hylarides on . Posted in Exact Online

Now in Exact Online for Manufacturing the new Shop Manager dashboard is available. The dashboard is an addition to the Smart Shop Floor app that many of our Manufacturing customers already use. With this app employees can start and stop operations, clock the operation times, get the rights manufacturing instructions and more.

With the new dashboard you get direct insights of all the work currently in progress on the shop floor. It tells you exactly who is currently working on what job, at which work centre and what the progress is.

REST APIs for Shop Order Material Management Transactions

Written by Pieter Hamans on . Posted in Exact Online

restapi-000

The shop orders in Exact for Manufacturing allow for four types of material management transactions: material issues, product receipts, by-product receipts and issues to parent (a suborder that yields a subassembly to a parent order). All these transactions are now supported by REST API endpoints. Moreover, for each of these transactions a reversal process is supported by the API as well. These REST APIs allow developers to execute material management transactions from within their own apps.

Register product weight including packaging materials at “Gross weight” per item.

Written by Jaap Jan de Lange on . Posted in Exact Online

Next to the Net weight, Country of origin and Statistical code it will become possible to register the Gross weight of an item. The Gross weight is the weight of the item including packaging materials and can be used when in need of reporting the total weight of the item including packaging materials next to the net weight of the item. Presenting the Gross weight next to the Net weight of products can be requested by carriers and by customs for international shipments

PowerPivot dashboards in Controlled Release

Written by Michiel Dorjee on . Posted in Exact Globe

In a world where entrepreneurs, managers and other stakeholders (both users and non-users of Exact) want to have a choice in how, when and where they want to have information about their business, Exact offers a new possibility to have insight in how to keep track of day-to-day-business-progress via PowerPivot.

We have chosen PowerPivot, an add-on for Microsoft Excel from version (Office) 2010, to use the reports in an environment that is familiar. The PowerPivot add-on is a free download from Microsoft and allows users to work with extremely large data sets.  PowerPivot is not available as a free add-on for MS Excel 2013. In that version it is only available in the licence Office Professional Plus.

In the last period we have created views on important tables in Exact Globe Next. Based on these views, we have built a Manufacturing, Purchase, Revenue and Stock report. The next good thing is that we offer these reports for free!

Two examples:

rapport_1         rapport_2

In the latest commercial release 406, the administrator has to execute a SQL script on the Globe database and change the data source of the PowerPivot sheet to connect to the Exact Globe Next database. As of product update 407, which is expected by the end of this year, the views will be automatically executed when the product update is installed.

At the moment we are looking for customers who want to work with these reports. We provide the reports through a Controlled Release program. If you are interested, please contact Justus van Hoegee (via justus.van.hoegee@exact.com) or me via phone (+31) 15 711 50 00 or via a reply on this blog.
