Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 249 and Exact Globe Next product update 404 are in controlled release

Written by Bert Siekmann on . Posted in Exact Globe, Exact Synergy

As of now Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 249 and Exact Globe Next product update 404 are in controlled release. That means that these releases are now available for resellers as well as all controlled release customers. After a successful controlled release period we will announce both products generally available, planned for mid-June.

Responding to challenges and needs of professional services organizations we have extended our PSA offering with numerous enhancements which will allow users to work more efficiently, save costs and achieve higher margins. Among others we will offer now integration of WBS (work breakdown structure) and budgets, a new flexible project cockpit and the possibility to copy a scope of a project  for easy project scope creation. Additionally, in this product update of Exact Synergy Enterprise we will launch a new Word Merge functionality that makes it easier to generate MS Word documents in which content from various entities from Exact Synergy Enterprise, such as accounts, projects and persons is automatically included. Moreover, we have extended Exact Synergy Enterprise with numerous enhancements, such as UX improvements, a solution to facilitate new Dutch holiday entitlement legislation and other improvements that have been developed based on direct feedback from our customers.

In Exact Globe Next we focused on facilitating the needs of our Wholesale customers; we have implemented numerous changes to the current functionality, such as improvements to E-WMS (release notes in tab Warehouse Management System). Additionally, after an extended controlled release period the B2B e-Commerce Portal will be generally available as of Exact Globe Next product update 404. To further extend the value proposition for customers in the Manufacturing field, we offer new solutions such as Exact Visual Scheduler (to be generally available) and back flushing for by-products. Moreover, we have extended Exact Globe Next with a large number of new features that facilitate changes in regional legislations and other enhancements that have been developed based on direct feedback from our customers.

Furthermore, in advance to launching Exact Globe Next product update 404 and Exact Synergy Enterprise product update 249 we have introduced numerous solution: Exact Synergy Enterprise Configurator and Central Master Data Management are now generally available. The Exact’s Service Management solution that strengthen wholesale and manufacturing companies is now in controlled release.

Please note that as a result of an extensive controlled release period and the feedback we received from our customers we have made a decision to change the name of Exact Globe to Exact Globe Next. What it means in practice is that when a customer decides to update his current Exact Globe, it will be updated to Exact Globe Next product update 404. An upgrade is not mandatory but when a customer decides to do so he will automatically benefit from the improvements of the Exact Globe Next version. Furthermore, he can request extended functionality that is standard in Exact Globe Next but not available without requesting it: Exact Synergy Enterprise with the Synergy user, integration with SSRS reports that offers real-time dashboard reports and a selection of alerts facilitated by Exact Event Manager. And a new menu/shell with state-of-the-art UX from which a user can operate all new and existing features. In the coming weeks we will provide more information on how this request process will work.

Rafiki’s Corner – I Present to You a New “Son”!

Written by Sander van Triet on . Posted in Exact Event Manager

Greetings to you all once again! I trust that everyone had a warm, and enriching summer?

Over the past two months, with people basking in the sun, diving in the Indian Ocean and soaring the never ending blue skies, the Exact Event Manager development team has been hard at work, developing features and improvements for not one, not two, but three releases of Exact Event Manager!!! Exact Event Manager 1.6 is now out in the market, Exact Event Manager 1.7 with Exact Globe Next is about to hit the streets and Exact Event Manager 1.8 is under development and soon to reach the eager hands of QA. Oh, and yes, we have also been working in the background on the basis for the release post Exact Event Manager 1.8.

So, what will I present here? Well, I present to you, some nifty new features that are to be found in Exact Event Manager 1.7, specifically features geared towards the deployment of Exact Event Manager with Exact Globe Next, due out into Controlled Release (CR) very, very soon. The bulk of the development here has been focused on inter-operability with Exact Globe Next (Exact Globe and Exact Synergy Enterprise). The first item I wish to share with you is the newly designed and created “Alerts Summary” tab.

This Alert Summary Tab has been created to provide a workbench from which defined Events can be controlled and managed without having to get embroiled in understanding the depths of SQL programming. Here, you can perform the following functions, all in one place.

  • Set the Event to be Active
  • Change any defined select parameters, such as “Invoices over X” Days, where X is your variable
  • Adjust and define the schedule that you wish to run the event. (making an Event run every minute is not suggested)
  • Execute the Query / event right now, without having to wait for the schedule. (A new feature for Exact Event Manager 1.7)

For those of you who look deeply at pictures, you will notice that the Event Manager Control Centre is being run directly from within Exact Globe Next, further providing insight into our intent on simplifying your business life with Exact solutions. Each implementation of Exact Globe Next comes with Exact Event Manager, allowing you to take a preview of the solution. The “Default” events all actually work. You can then explore the solution at will with the only restriction being that you cannot save any Query changes. For this, you need to purchase a full license of Exact Event Manager, depending upon the number of Active Events you wish to run.

Furthermore, to show the intrinsic power of Exact Event Manager, with Exact Globe Next, we have provided 6 “Default” Events, that come with the solution. All you need to do is to change the parameters, set a schedule, and then go for coffee and reap the rewards!

Over the next few weeks, I will be posting more details on Exact Event Manager and provide insight into what is coming soon, to a solution near you!

Have a great weekend everyone.

How to know what’s ‘in’ per country

Written by Sabine Christiansen on . Posted in Exact Globe

Serving customers all around the world, we are dealing with different legislations every day. Since I’m part of localizations team of Exact, I’m busy with all kind of adjustments, to make sure our software meets expectations of our customers in the supported countries. This of course also includes ‘managing those expectations’ and clear communication of what’s already available.

To give an overview of what can be expected per country, in the past we prepared documents that listed supported functionality for each country. As a result of many modifications over the years, the documents were no longer user friendly. To optimize usability we first differentiated all supported functionality per country into ‘general’ for general information like supported language, ‘legal’ for legally required functionality, ‘local’ in sense of common business use and ‘banking’ for supported bank formats and country specific cash flow functionality. As a consequence we now offer a clear overview per country with linked detailed information and release notes.  Those fact sheets which work as a sort of country cockpit, have been first introduced internally and now are also available for our customers.

Take a look at Synergy document 17.073.975, to see what we prepared. To view it you need to login with your customer portal credentials. Those factsheets will be updated for every product update. So better stay tuned!

Welcome to Exact Globe Next

Written by Michiel Dorjee on . Posted in Exact Event Manager, Exact Globe, Exact Synergy

On behalf of product management, I’m proud to introduce Exact Globe Next that combines and integrates different Exact solutions.

Exact Globe Next offers one menu which functions as a shell to combine and give access to several solutions: Exact Globe, Exact Synergy Enterprise, Exact Event Manager and integration with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Combining all these products into one provides you with a complete solution with which you can effectively and proactively run your business, but also it enables you to see which direction your business is heading. You will gain more control over your company and processes, and stay on top of your business.

If your company is already using Exact Globe, with addition of Exact Synergy Enterprise functionality it will be much easier for your employees to collaborate online more effectively, for example by creating tasks for one another, search for people and accounts and read news about the company on the intranet home page and even submit vacation request. All employees can access Exact Synergy Enterprise with the Synergy user, but more license roles can be purchased for employees if extra functionality is needed. If you are already using Exact Synergy Enterprise all functionality you have right now will be also available with Exact Globe Next.

Thanks to the integration with SSRS you can view dashboards and reports that will give you strategic insight in your organization’s key performance indicators. With Exact Globe Next you will get a default set of dashboards that will help you to gain maximum control over your business at any time.

Exact Event Manager helps to identify and respond to critical conditions which have been defined within your organization. And with Exact Globe Next you will be able to make use of this automatic alert function, having 8 default events with an option to purchase additional event packs.

Now you might be asking yourself what it means for you in practice. With Exact Globe Next you can count on:

  • The new insight: always having the latest information at your fingertips is a prerequisite for doing good business
  • The new overview: set the right priorities with Exact Globe Next. This innovative business software thinks with you.
  • The new collaboration: collaboration with each other is easier than ever before.
  • The new convenience: work faster and more productively with the user-friendly Exact Globe Next.

Those are only the high level benefits of Exact Globe Next, please visit the Exact Globe Next website where you can get more information about this solution, watch videos and see how you can request the upgrade.

We will be providing more information about Exact Globe Next on the Product Blog, so stay tuned!

Rafiki’s Corner – Exact Event Manager 1.7 Moves into Regional Verification Testing

Written by Sander van Triet on . Posted in Exact Event Manager

A well deserved long weekend is upon us here in North America. Labour Day is celebrated on Monday, signifying the movement in the Northern Hemisphere out of what has been a wonderful, hot and dry Summer. It is appropriate then, that the next iteration of Exact Event Manager moves into what is formally known is Regional Verification Testing, on Tuesday, September 6th. This vital phase in the completion of Exact Event Manager 1.7 is being held in Columbus, OH, where colleagues from various departments, and regions converge on the development offices in Columbus.

For the week of September 6th, folks from Pre-sales, support and consulting, will sit in one boardroom together, putting the latest release through it paces, learning the details of new features and validating the quality of the release. This testing is done in Columbus for a very specific reason…proximity and access to the developers of the solution.

Exact Event Manager 1.7 is not necessarily a major release, in terms of incremental feature sets. However, that importance of this release should not be underestimated. This release was designed and delivered to interoperate with Exact Globe Next, in a tight and contiguous fashion. The new “command center” of Exact Globe Next, if you will, allows the administrator of Exact Event Manager, to launch directly into Exact Event Manager from within Exact Globe Next, and then straight into the new Alert Summary Tab, as previously discussed.

Tight Interoperability

Exact Event Manager 1.7 is also silently installed during the installation of Exact Globe Next, providing users of Exact Corporate solutions the opportunity to take a peek at Exact Event Manager. One will come to the quick realization that the inherent value proposition of Exact Event Manager, for any business, is pervasive and invaluable.

Aside from tight interoperability with Exact Globe Next, Exact Event Manager 1.7 also has new features such as Queue Now options, an Alert Summary Tab with Parameter changes allowed, new enhanced features within the Rich Text Editor and a host of smaller User Experience improvements. It is important to note that this release of Exact Event Manager 1.7 will operate as an independant solution outside of Exact Globe Next, allowing operation with Exact Macola ES, Progression, JobBOSS, MAX, Synergy and Synergy Enterprise.

As next week progresses, more information on what is new will be exposed. Have a great weekend!
