From the Spring Release this year, Exact Online for Wholesale and Manufacturing contain a new feature called ‘Financial insights’. This feature delivers essential financial insights during the order intake process. Actually, when entering the customer in a new sales order, a popup is triggered automatically when needed, showing the amounts of (overdue) accounts receivable, open invoices and orders.

Three editions of Exact Online for Manufacturing are available: Standard, Advanced and Premium. We will briefly explain the purpose of the Premium edition and its content. Premium has been developed for small and medium repetitive manufacturers requiring mature material planning.
When you want to make a downgrade from Exact for Manufacturing Premium (or Exact for Wholesale Distribution Premium) to Exact for Manufacturing Advanced (or Wholesale Distribution Advanced) you need to take some actions PRIOR to downgrading, and you need to understand what is actually changing, otherwise you may get the impression that something went wrong with your inventory.
Exact for Manufacturing comes with a great set of REST APIs to build connections with your MES apps, machines or supply chain. At a first glance, the number of available APIs seems overwhelming and chances are that we waste time picking the right ones. In this REST API 101 we look at making receipts from shop orders.
The most obvious manner to create a purchase order is manually: open the purchase order screen, choose a supplier and enter items and quantities. This process can be handled much smarter though in Exact Online. Three methods to automate purchasing are available: opportunistic, using a reorder point and with MRP.
From this Summer Release, Exact Online for Trade and Exact Online for Manufacturing offer the possibility to show ‘available stock’ information within the sales order. This information can be made available to the order rows, as a new column. This way, you can easily see if it is possible to fulfill your order, on product level.

Shop order remarks may be important to a supplier of shop order materials or subcontracted services. We have made it possible to print shop order remarks in the lines of purchase orders linked to the shop order. This improvement has been suggested as an idea and received a high number of votes.
A warehouse in Exact Online can be subdivided into storage locations. With storage locations we can easier find back our inventory. How we use storage locations depends on the size of our warehouse, but also on our requirements for inventory accuracy. Three possibilities are to our avail in Exact Online for Wholesale Distribution and Manufacturing: No storage locations, fixed storage locations and multiple storage locations.
Sometimes it is necessary to add a more extensive text with remarks to the supplier on the purchase order. Often this text is not only dependent on the item but also on the supplier. We have created the possibility to copy the purchase remarks field to the purchase order.
