It is now possible to push planned work in Exact Online to your personal Microsoft Office 365® or Outlook® calendars. This will enhance efficient communication between central planner or project manager responsible for planning and the planned employees.
Growing your subscription business requires clarity on your financials. In order to run your business with confidence you need immediate visibility on your current and future receivables and payables, costs and revenues – more importantly without spreadsheet hassles.
Tracking time is getting easier. And smarter. You’re now able to track time via your Android Wear smartwatch. With smart check-in & out capabilities! The app is context-aware and uses GPS coordinates to match your location with a client. You’ll receive an automatic notification reminding you to check-in. When you leave the client location a notification is triggered to check-out and save your time entry.
We recently introduced three new features helping you to not only better manage project scope and prevent project overspend, but also helping you to get paid faster.
Can you send me a quote or estimate for your services? Not every service quote is a 20-page proposal, with extensive details on how project work will be delivered. What if the majority of your service quotes is related to smaller (lower-value) jobs for a few days of work? Or if they relate to repeat or extra work orders? As a service provider you want to quickly build and communicate such quotes and estimates to your client without any hassles. We made some enhancements that will not only help you to save time, but also will help you to seamlessly manage the handover from sales to delivery and finance.
We will soon support the ability to influence the billing cycle and flexibly define your billing cycle independent from the start date of your subscription. Helping you to better align subscription billing periods with your customer’s or your own financial or calendar periods. Using this new feature you can charge your subscribers on every first (or any day) of the month, whilst activating subscriptions on any day and partially charging them for the first invoice period (prorated billing).
Last year a journey was started to enhance the getting started process and main process flows in Exact Online accounting. Among the first deliverables was a re-designed dashboard – designed with the need in mind to easier manage day-to-day tasks and have immediate insight in the financials of your company. For professional services firms, we want to continue this journey and provide our users with a central starting point to manage key activities within these firms. Helping them to get started quickly and better manage their projects, resource capacity and billable utilization.

Better manage projects, capacity and utilization
A new interactive dashboard will be the starting point for key actions like creating new projects, approving time and leave entries, and generating invoices. It will also display key indicators such as billability, schedule accountability, budget progress, active projects and available capacity – all at a glance.
As from now the dashboard will be available in controlled release for all editions (Exact Online for Time & Billing and Project Management) and will soon be made available via Early Access – enabling you to test-drive this dashboard and provide immediate feedback.
