Exact Online Manufacturing Advanced is general available

Written by Pieter Hamans on . Posted in Exact Online

In the past 12 months we have been working hard to develop and test Exact Online Manufacturing Advanced. This week we have the official launch, also known as ‘general availability’, two months early to schedule.

Why we developed Manufacturing Advanced

In an Advanced shop we recognize a larger need to get grip on inventory. The underlying causes to get grip on inventory may be related to compliance (batch traceability, serialized products), multiple outlets (for example a factory and a warehouse in different towns), product complexity (sub-assemblies), or a combination of these. Many of our smaller subcontracting customers do not focus on managing inventory. Those that do, will recognize the benefits of Exact Online Manufacturing Advanced. Companies that use Manufacturing Advanced will be found among machine builders, makers of electronics and electrical instruments and food manufacturers.

Including Wholesale Distribution Advanced

The starting point for Manufacturing Advanced has been to include and support all features of Wholesale Distribution Advanced. In a nutshell, this includes multiple warehouses, warehouse transfers, item bin locations, serial- and batch numbers, assembly (kitting) orders, assemble at delivery, cluster picking and stock aging. By including these wholesale distribution features we make it easy to upgrade or migrate to manufacturing.

Supporting advanced shop floor logistics

Products that are built from in-house manufactured components (sub-assemblies) require engineering support (multi-level bill-of-materials), shop floor control support (linked suborders, issues directly from suborders to parent orders and correct lead-time offsetting) and costing support (cost roll-up over multiple BOM levels and actual cost overview of parent with suborders).
