The amount collection costs on layout

Written by Marcel Thijssen on . Posted in Exact Globe

In July 2012, is the ‘Besluit vergoeding voor buitengerechtelijke incassokosten’ implemented in the Netherlands. This means that the amount of collection costs on the payment reminder should be stated preceding the registration with the collection agency.

A (statutory) graduated calculation of interest has been drawn up:

Principal amount Percentage maximum Remuneration collection costs
Over the first 2500 euro 15 % Minimum 40 euro
Over the next 2500 euro 10 %
Over the next 5000 euro 5 %
Over the next 190.000 euro 1 %
Over the remaining 0,5 % Maximum 6775 euro

The principal amount consists of the total of expired outstanding items. An example: in case of an expired principal amount of 6000 euros, the collection costs will be calculated as follows 375 (15% of 2500) + 250 (10% of 2500) + 50 (5% of 1000) = 675.

Apply to layout?

In order to show this amount on a reminder layout, you can create the following seven fields in the Total block (Amount in DC) of a reminder layout. If these are placed exactly in the same layout position, only one of the fields will be shown.

  • Minimum 40,-:
    [Total amount due] < 266,67 then 40
  • Between 266,67 and 2500:
    ([Total amount due] > 266,67 &&[Total amount due] <= 2500) then [Total amount due] * 0,15
  • Between 2500 and 5000:
    ([Total amount due] > 2500 && [Total amount due] <= 5000) then (([Total amount due] – 2500) * 0,10) + 375
  • Between 5000 and 10.000:
    ([Total amount due] > 5000 && [Total amount due] <= 10000) then (([Total amount due] – 5000) * 0,05) + 625
  • Between 10.000 and 200.000:
    ([Total amount due] > 10000 && [Total amount due] <= 200000) then (([Total amount due] – 10000) * 0,01) + 875
  • Between 200.000 and 1.000.000:
    ([Total amount due] > 200000 && [Total amount due] <= 1000000) then (([Total amount due] – 200000) * 0,005) + 2775
  • Above 1.000.000:
    [Total amount due] > 1000000 then 6775

Adding calculation fields

You can add a calculation field to the layout by following the steps below:

  • Edit an existing layout or make a new via [System, General, Settings, Document settings].
  • Add a calculation field [Edit, Insert, Calculation field].
  • Click Change expression

  • Fill in one of the lines above per block
  • Repeat above-mentioned steps for the various formulas until the seven fields have been created
  • Place all fields on top of each other in the same position.
