Written by Jaap Jan de Lange on . Posted in Exact Online

In daily business a variety of scenarios can require specific additional information of products or services. This can relate to sector, a business process or information requested by customers or suppliers. This information is to be communicated via sales- and purchase related documents, used in eCommerce via web shops and marketplaces or included in digital transactions.

Examples are: Risk codes for Chemicals, Size and Color optionally combined with a Parent- or Variant item for Apparel, Volume for Shipping purposes, a Retail price for compliance in your retail channel, Material type for Jewelry or Construction materials, Temperature for Food products, etc..

A Purchase agent is a gatekeeper for the quality a company can deliver to its customers. The saying “Garbage in is Garbage out” is on top of mind. It is the purchase agent that selects and contact suppliers and agrees on best prices and quantities. A purchase agent is also monitoring suppliers and their products or services and makes sure they are delivering what was promised.

Assortment categories bring structure into your product portfolio. Especially when a large variety of products are offered. They make searching for the right product based on characteristics easy to do for both employees and (prospected) customers. They also provide insight in related products, show doubles or even gaps in your assortment.

Reduce the risk of incorrect receipts from your suppliers by improved purchase order communication

Written by Jaap Jan de Lange on . Posted in Exact Online

In order to receive the right products on time and at the right price it is essential that communication with your suppliers about purchase orders is clear and complete. Any delay or mistake by miscommunication will directly affect your own business as you will most likely not meet your own customers’ expectations.

REST APIs for Shop Order Material Management Transactions

Written by Pieter Hamans on . Posted in Exact Online

The shop orders in Exact for Manufacturing allow for four types of material management transactions: material issues, product receipts, by-product receipts and issues to parent (a suborder that yields a subassembly to a parent order). All these transactions are now supported by REST API endpoints. Moreover, for each of these transactions a reversal process is supported by the API as well. These REST APIs allow developers to execute material management transactions from within their own apps.
