Product updates 255 and 410 generally available

Written by Michiel van Rooijen on . Posted in Exact Globe, Exact Synergy

As of today Exact Synergy product update 255 and Exact Globe product update 410 are generally available. In the product updates several new functions and improvements have been made available such as a new interface for Exact Synergy and enhancements for the Exact Globe WMS solution.

Exact Synergy

The new Exact Synergy user interface is shown after performing the update. The complete user interface has undergone a transformation to a more innovative and visually attractive design. Read all about the changes in these blog posts.

In addition, there are also several improvements in the service management solution, such as the possibility to use selection codes and payment conditions, the availability of free fields, the possibility to determine the order of agreement lines and new lines in the contract and much more.

Please note that Microsoft Exchange 2003 is no longer supported as of product update 255.

Exact Globe

In Exact Globe there are several improvements in the WMS solution. It is now possible to use pre-collection via which the picking advice is generated based on totals instead of separate order lines, and you have the possibility to allocate stock on SKU level.

There is also a separate controlled release of a change regarding the splitting of order lines when allocating free stock. As of this product update actual splitting of sales order lines due to stock allocation of free stock is minimized. The order lines will be displayed as entered when creating the order regardless whether stock is allocated to these lines. This functionality can be made available on request in product update 410. If you are interested in using this enhancement you can send an e-mail to productreadiness@exact.com.

Service Management: Closer look at contracts

Written by Robin den Buurman on . Posted in Exact Globe, Exact Synergy

Exact is currently developing a new Service Management solution. The team has created this video to give you a global preview about what you can expect from the solution which will be available soon. However we would like to take you a little bit more in depth for Service Contracts at this stage.

The service contract is optional but can be used to register the agreements made with the customer. For an easy and uniform contract entry, it is possible to create agreement sets containing different agreements, which can be added to a contract as a set. Templates can be created with pre-filled contract information. This means you only have to select the configuration; it is optional to select which agreement applies to which configuration item or part. To make sure the right prices are used when creating agreements for an item, you can define default contract rates. These can be invoiced periodically, or the agreements can influence the service activity process. You can also define when and how often preventive maintenance will be done, and which service activities can be created in a batch.

Please take a look at the video!

Exchange payments and account information directly with your banks

Written by Alexander Kutilov on . Posted in Exact Globe, Exact Online

Previously I have mentioned about the growing demand of Exact Globe customers to have the ability to start sending payment and collection orders to banks online and receiving bank statements online and thus having banking information real-time available.

This demand is being acknowledged by Exact and as a result we have firm plans on implementing such solutions so all up-to-date banking information is automatically at your fingertips.

As from the product update 401 Exact Globe supports this way of working with Rabobank in the Netherlands. It provides integration and automatic exchange of the bank payment files, bank collection files and bank statement files between Exact Globe and Rabobank, based on the Exact Online technology platform.

Since last month, when Exact Globe product update 401 went generally available, more than 150 Exact customers have registered for this solution!

Furthermore, in the coming Exact Globe product update 402, Belgian customers will enjoy fully automatic integration with Isabel Go . With the help of Isabel Go integration in your accounting package, you can exchange payments and account information directly with your banks.

Today Exact is also conducting research into presenting this way of working with other Dutch banks. Exact Online has already successfully launched automatic bank statement synchronization with ABN AMRO. Exact Globe customers will have the same opportunity in the nearest future.

You are welcome to stay updated on further developments in the area of cash flow management and electronic banking solutions through our regular postings on the Exact Product Blog.

The B2B E-Commerce Portal (ECP) is planned to be general available in July (with Exact Synergy Enterprise pu 246/Exact Globe pu 401). Support for Windows Server 2003 will be discontinued as of product update 409 and 254

Written by Michiel van Rooijen on . Posted in Exact Globe, Exact Synergy

To provide you a great user experience Exact products use the newest technologies. To support these new technologies the system requirements are revised regularly when releasing a new product update. This is also the case for product update 409 and 254. As of product update 409 and 254 the system requirements will change. For instance, the installation of Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 will be a requirement.

Because Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 is not supported for Windows Server 2003, and because according the Microsoft support lifecycle policy the support for Windows Server 2003 will stop as of July 2015, we are unfortunately forced to stop the support for Windows Server 2003 as of product update 409/254.

If you are using Windows Server 2003 and want to update to product update 409/254, we advise to timely upgrade to a newer supported operating system.

CAD link with Inventor for Exact Globe Next

Written by Michiel van Rooijen on . Posted in Exact Globe

In manufacturing companies CAD and PDM solutions, like Inventor and Solidworks are frequently used, next to ERP solution like Exact Globe. To reduce manual and double data entry, many of these companies link the CAD or PDM solution with Exact Globe. You can do this by uploading the new designed items and related Bill of Material into the ERP or use the integrated solution there is in Solidworks.

We started a project to further standardize the integration between Exact Exact Globe Next and Inventor (from Autodesk). We look for collaboration with customers interested to participate in this project or who have idea’s what the must-haves should be in a standard interface.

If you’re interested in participating please let us know.

WMS stock keeping units (SKU) functionality in controlled release!

Written by Bob Heinen on . Posted in Exact Globe

As per general availability of Exact Globe product update 401, our warehouse management solution (WMS) has been enhanced with stock keeping units (SKU) functionality. This functionality is currently offered in an extended controlled release phase. SKU functionality will become standard within E-WMS Replenishment after controlled release.

SKU management enables you to tag any stock unit in your warehouse with a unique number, a kind of ‘license plate’. Instead of scanning warehouse, location, item, batch number and quantity per individual item, you now only have to scan one unique number. In that way it becomes possible to register and trace complete sets of goods from reception, making your warehousing efficiency improve rapidly. This unique number is generated and the label printed during the stock reception processes.

  • Higher efficiency and accuracy in handling processes.
  • One SKU number results in reduction of errors.
  • FIFO/LIFO picking advice possibilities based on the SKU reception date.
  • The possibility to advice ‘full pallets’ directly from bulk locations instead of picking locations.
  • Enhanced tracing since SKU transaction history remains available.

B2B E-Commerce Portal, status update

Written by Bob Heinen on . Posted in Exact Globe, Exact Synergy

Since the announcement of B2B E-Commerce Portal going into controlled release, we got a lot of positive feedback from customers, partners and colleagues within Exact. Thanks for that!

The focus for the coming period will be on:

  • Enabling electronic payment through Ogone (www.ogone.com)
  • Adding support for items (or assortments) per account group or account
  • Delivery method selection
  • Implementation of themes

As mentioned before, the B2B E-Commerce Portal (ECP) will be shipped with 3 ‘themes’. A ‘theme’ includes a set of fonts, colors and images. The portal administrator can easiliy select one of the themes from the ECP menu screen. After that the portal administrator can add, drag and modify widgets. The combination of a theme and widgets provides a lot of flexibility to customize the look & feel. All this without any html or css knowledge.

Of course it is also possible to change the portals’ css file (Cascading Style Sheet). Each theme has an own style sheet. Also a file called ‘custom.css’ is installed. Any changes to the exisiting theme should be added in the custom.css file. These changes should not be done in the theme css file. This way, updates will not destroy your customized style.

Theme selection in the B2B E-Commerce Portal menu:

Instead of 3 you see 4 themes here. The compact theme is a bonus! Here is an mock-up of the theme:
