In a previous blog post ‘Central master data’ I promised to share the first visuals on the prototype! As it’s a prototype, the visuals can deviate from the future/final version.
As explained in the previous blog on this topic, we decided to start with “accounts” . Exact Synergy Enterprise is facilitating the central place to create and modify accounts. The master data is synchronized with all Exact Globe divisions that have a relationship with the account.
When you create a new customer, the account looks like this:Account card – Divisions section
The Divisions section is new. In this section you can immediately see which Divisions are linked to this account. Besides the division you can see the debtor code of the division. These debtor codes can differ per division. When selecting a Division the Division specific data for this specific account becomes visible and editable.
The division specific data card, previously only displayed information of a single division. The first functionality we added is the possibility to maintain account data per division. We extended this screen with fields which normally could only be defined for all Divisions. So for example, the account manager of this specific account could be defined, but it was not possible to define a different account manager per division.Central access to division specific data
Maintaining Account master data for multiple divisions centrally means that all back office (Exact Globe) related data should be made available in Exact Synergy Enterprise. This means that the second step was to be able to maintain back office data per division. This will avoid that a user that creates or links an account to a division and then has to complete the data in the individual back office administration. Information like VAT codes, Payment conditions or Price lists can well differ per division.
