I like how the twitter feed can be added to an account: Prospect, Customer, Reseller, and Supplier. Tip: You can add multiple twitter accounts to an account. Just change the search as needed.

Hi Wouwe Wietze, the Windows app is not planned yet. About 95% of our customers are currently on iOS or Android.

We will have a close look at the Mobile market and the market share of Windows (phone).

We noticed that you can’t add an account or a lead. This is used all the time by our reps. When will this be added??

Hi Nicole, indeed account cannot be created and edited. Our research showed that creating and editing contact persons was very important, but for accounts not that much. Therefore we focused on contact persons first: these can be created and edited. For accounts this option might become available, but not planned for short term.

This sounds like such a great app, if only it were available for Android. Will definitely keep an ear out for updates on when I can download this app.

Hi, are there any plans to be able to log oppotunities directly via the CRM app?

Hi Marc, this is something we are looking into. Only an hour ago the team shared the outcomes of some tests with me. But, don’t expect this in a very short timeframe. It is a lot of work to implement this, since it requires big adjustments in our API.

Hi, the app looks great and is really an upgrade in comparison to the default synergy app.

But we all get the error: resource not found for the segment “account” when selecting an account. Same error occurs with the employee card. How is this possible?

      Hi Leon,
      Thanks for the compliments!
You get this message when the service is not turned on for this entity.
In Synergy, go to webservices setting in the system menu.
Make sure that all checkboxes in the right row are checked.
I am quite sure that for accounts and employees they are unchecked.
      Good luck.

Thanx Martin. It works like a charm now.

Is there any way to change the language to Dutch?

    Reply

    • Martin Ortgiess

Hi Leon, the language of the App is based on the user preferences set in Synergy. In synergy, the user can set his preferred language to Dutch. The app will follow this.

    Hi Martin,

When creating an appointment in the CRM app, I have to fill in the startdate, enddate and time (duration).
Is it possible, perhaps in the future, that the app automatically fills in the same enddate and duration of 1 hour.

    For example:
    20-08-2014 15:00
20-08-2014 16:00 –> This line will be filled in automatically by the app.

    Thanks.

Is it correct that the CRM app does NOT consider whether documents are archived or not?

In Synergy the archived documents are hidden everywhere (except under “Reports/Archived”.

In the app however, the archived documents do show up everywhere: under the customer, under my documents… I find this inconsistent…

If this is correct, maybe this can be updated, please?

    Some feedback from users:

    – Sales rep on the road adds new leads and prospects, but when making a typo, he or she cannot correct this.

The users cannot understand why editing their just created record is not possible in the app. I can’t either… but I read that this is being looked at. Just another encouragement to keep looking…:-)

      Hi Frank,

Indeed we are looking at how to make it possible for a user to edit an account (lead / prospect / …). Since we want to offer this functionality in line with the rights a person has in Synergy itself, we need to do some extra work to make sure that these rights are also taken into account when changing data of an account on the app. Do you know if it would be sufficient to be able to edit the fields that are available now in the App (since you mention that a typo cannot be corrected)?

      Regards,
      Sonja

    Requests:
In Synergy they are have 2 columns and sections to make the more readable. When users start using the CRM app, the request field layout needs to be changed!

    – Headings (by using sections) are not visible, resulting in one long list of fields. Not sure how to fix this…

    – The field “Attachment: is forced to be the last field, and its custom description does not show up. The instruction on what kind of attachment should be uploaded is lost.

    – The remarks:workflow and remarks:request fields are forced to be the first fields in the CRM app (but include their custom description, which is good). However, there is a logic in filling out the fields in a request, and now these fields on the top don’t make sense.

    Request is that
    – the sections are displayed as a header;
    – all custom field descriptions are displayed (also attachment field)
    – all request fields are displayed in order

Thought… if maintaining the 2 columns in Synergy, maybe an extra field in the request maintenance could indicate the order of the fields in the app. In that way you can maintain the 2 columns, and force the field order in the app.

    Thanks for considering…

      Hi Frank,

Thank you for this feedback on the CRM app for the usage of a request!
We are aware of the fact that layout definitions are not reflected in the app at the moment. Sections and other visual differences are not supported at the moment.
Placing the remark fields at the top was a decision that was made on purpose when designing the request card in the app, but I can imagine that in some situations, you would like to have it more aligned with how you see the request in Synergy.
We will have a look at the custom description of the attachment field.

Ideal situation would be that someone (an administrator for example) can define in Synergy what to show on the mobile app for a request, and also in which order it should be shown on the mobile. This is a wish for us, but we cannot make a commitment that we can deliver this soon. But hopefully we can make some steps next year!

      Regards,
      Sonja

The SSRS Reports in the CRM app are fabulous!!!! This provides powerful information to people that are mobile… Great that this can be customized by person… GREAT!!!

One request: it would be great if the user can enter the report parameters. That would provide so much more power… (right now you are forced to select one when you add the SSRS report in your preferences).

My last comment for today 😉

Hi Sonja, assuming that you will respond again :-)

When creating SSRS reports with drill down [+] to display hidden rows or columns, the app results in my case in a SQL error. (SSRSRedirect.aspx). I am wondering if this is a bug? Would be great to solve, because on a small iPad screen these [+] drill downs are very useful…

      Hi Frank,

      Thanks for mentioning this issue.
We will have a look about what happens exactly when drill down is included in an SSRS report.

Of course, I’ll let you know what the outcome of this is :-).

In a request you use a free text field can create a pull down list (option 1; option 2; option 3).

I can’t get that to work: the app only shows the first option. I use this extensively, and I imagine that many companies use this…

Anyone any suggestions on how to fix this? (Issue in both the CRM app and the regular Synergy app…)

Let me answer my own question, as that may help others: in Synergy the free text field does only require this syntax for a pull down (option 1; option 2; option 3).

But with the Synergy apps the syntax requires a comma:
      (a, option 1; b, option 2; c, option 3).

The text before the comma does not show up in the app or Synergy, and can be anything you like.

Coming from an older version of Synergy this comma was not required previously, but now it is. (When making changes to these fields, don’t forget to fix existing database records for reporting purposes.)

      Hi Frank,

We noticed that a free text field with own defined drop down list does not always work. In the case that we discovered, it had to to with the spaces behind the ; . So if you would have (option 1;option 2;option 3) it would work. Not sure if this is the same situation for you.

We are working on fixing this (so with or without a space will work fine) and will release this to the store.

      Regards,
      Sonja
