Exact Online for your iPhone

Written by Edgar Wieringa on . Posted in Exact Online

Exact Online doesn’t have an mobile app yet and believe me I would have loved for it to be there already. Yet the last months we have done a lot of work in the background to make it possible to deliver rocking mobile apps on top of Exact Online. So now can really get it going. Rocking, so looking cool and offering things that make your life and running your business easier. And we start with iPhone as the first supported device.

In the presentation below I have tried to catch our ideas in a picture and in words, hoping this gives you an image of what we would like to deliver. The slide contains plans and more on the lsit as we can deliver at short notice, no commitments yet but I hope you take the opportunity in sharing your ideas in reply to ours. Happy viewing!

    I offer my apologies to all readers, I uploaded my slides to Slideshare. And guess what? They went down for some time today. As a result you couldn’t view the slides. According to their blog there was an issue with their load balancer. I am too humble to think this was due to the many readers of this blog :-) Hope it works for you now.

    Sorry for the inconvenience, hope you will be back to share your feedback on the ideas.

    From their blog:
    We wanted to let you know that SlideShare is down right now. We have identified the problem – it has to do with the load balancer, and are working on fixing it.

    Sorry about this. And thanks for your patience.

    What about the possibility to pay outstanding items directly from your Iphone?

    Edgar,

    It’s a great set of features, but I wonder for who they are and how these people benefit from them. What are the features suppose to solve?

    @Aad,

    Thanks for your question. All are aimed at helping people. If you can’t tell the benefit that is hopefully due to the short format I have chosen. I will guide you through two as an example, hopefully setting the tone for the other. Take yourself as an entrepreneur. You just bought some stationery at your local favorite bookstore and paid cash. Imagine yourself taking a picture of the receipt and send it to Exact Online. We will do the rest, make text from it for your description, recognize the supplier and propose the right financial entry for your online dossier. So getting rid of the manual entry of the receipt for you or your accountant.

    Or for checking the status of some outstanding items, again for the independent entrepeneur who wants to quickly check the status of some invoices. She can’t do this at the customer site (no external internet) or doesn’t want to. Too many people looking over the shoulders and the phone offers more privacy. Or over a cup of coffee in the hallway she feels more convenient.

    Or the time tracking based on location, one thing many consultants dislike is to keep track of time. The device in your pocket just does so, so again taking away manual and disruptive actions from you.

    I ended up plotting more than two, I hope my line of thought also gets you of.
