We are aware of the solution that Nobel offers. From Exact Synergy Enterprise release 242 it is possible to attach external documents directly to a request, without creating a document first. This makes it already much easier to open and read the attachments.

If you want to have preview functionality on all requesttypes, please consider Nobel / Eddon. We offer a standard solution for this. More information on this solution can be found here: http://www.eddon.nl/producten/eddon-blocks/exact-synergy-enterprise/document-preview-se.html?search_category=1522021&opened_folder=1522205

Finally!

Why link this to only IIR and not to all request types?
There are more processes in which documents are attached, an expense claim for example.
