Turn Excel sheets into XML files for import into Exact Globe
Posted on 07. Oct, 2009 by Ronald Voets in Exact Globe
Exact Globe has the capability to import XML files. There are professional tools to turn an Excel sheet into XML and subsequently (using another tool) to map that XML file to the Exact Globe “style sheet”. That process is not for the faint-hearted as it requires technical knowledge and tools.
In this document, you can find links to Excel sheets containing makro’s that allow the creation of an XML file, that can be imported into Exact Globe, directly from an Excel sheet. The makros can be edited to your liking.

In addition to helping our customers during data migration, this functionality can help presales to streamline our demo prep.
Was wondering, has any of these files been tested with Exact Synergy Enterprise directly? My understanding was that there were some variations in the XML format? Does anyone know which spreadsheets will/will not work?

Hi KB,
in the document I referred to, there’s no XLS for currency rates available. Easiest thing for you would probably be to use SQL data transformation tools to import your XLS into the right SQL table (Rates)

Is it also possible to import general ledger bookings this way? With CSV we cannot do and this looks almost as easy.

@Sander: general eldger bookings are not possible. if you want to import those, you can do that in Globe via menu path XML >>Financial Import >> Financial entries. Click on File and there you can choose to import via an XML format or via CSV format. More info on how the CSV should look like can be found in :
