Gartner’s Midmarket ERP Magic Quadrant is out

Written by Michiel Dorjee on . Posted in Exact Globe

The Gartner Midmarket ERP Magic Quadrant has been released. For the first time, Exact Globe has been included. Gartner is one of the best known information technology research and advisory firms. The full report can be found here.

For those of you that don’t know Magic Quadrants, this is what Gartner says: “Magic Quadrants depict markets in the middle phases of their life cycle by using a two-dimensional matrix that evaluates vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute. The Magic Quadrant has 15 weighted criteria that plot vendors based on their relative strengths in the market.” For more information you can have a look at the explanation of how Gartner evaluates vendors within a market.

Sorry to see that new product release are infrequent and unpredictable. The great Exact development organization is capable of so much more!

    Hi Jeroen,

that part of Gartner’s report may seem surprising indeed, since the product updates for Exact Globe follow a predictable patern since mid 2008: 1 every quarter and planning as well as execution has been spot-on. Also in 2009, we’ll bring 4 product updates to market and have a short time-to-market for our product improvements. This is also what we’ve explained to Gartner but next to talking to the software vendor, they spend time talking to customers, got different feedback and (rightfully!) took the customer’s voice into their end-conclusion as well. So apparently, we need to do a better job in communicating our release planning to the outside world. In a way that’s a positive conclusion, since it’s something which we fully have in our own hands. We’re working on improving this communication in several ways, i.e. by sending out electronic newsletters to our customers to update them on the main improvements and benefits of a new product update.
